Looking at the current development of treatment options in diabetic macula edema (DME) and wet AMD, we believe there is a great need to enhance understanding regarding targeted usage to improve eye health services, particularly in the retina field. Information about optimal therapy and the latest studies that reinforce it have been widely presented. However, not all retina specialists can grasp all the latest developments. Therefore, a new paradigm is needed to introduce treatment modalities to vitreoretinal specialists through scientific events emphasizing more applicable elements. The complexities of modern retinal treatments require a nuanced understanding that goes beyond basic knowledge. With the rapid influx of new research, many specialists find it difficult to sift through the vast amount of data to identify the most relevant and applicable information. This situation calls for a novel approach—one that not only presents the latest treatment modalities but does so in a way that is directly applicable to everyday clinical practice.
To address this need, we propose the “Bandung Retina Meeting 2025,” a groundbreaking event designed to bring together vitreoretinal specialists from across Indonesia. This meeting is not just another conference; it is an immersive experience where knowledge is shared, ideas are exchanged, and practical skills are honed. By focusing on expert opinions and real-world case studies, we aim to bridge the gap between cutting-edge research and clinical application. Recognizing Indonesia’s more hierarchical culture, we have designed this event to emphasize expert opinions, with open discussions during each case presentation. This format will allow speakers, panelists, and participants to engage in active discussions, leading to a more comprehensive understanding in a setting that is both enjoyable and informative. We believe this concept will be more appealing to scientific participants. This event is designed to be intimate, eliminating the distance between speakers and participants. By fostering a sense of “closeness,” we aim to convey the message that this drug can be effectively used in everyday practice by all levels of vitreoretinal specialists in Indonesia. Aligns perfectly with the concept we have developed for this event, with its advanced features, we plan to create a scientific event that reflects the drug’s and medical device’s characteristics—new and sophisticated—while distinguishing itself from previous professional gatherings.
